THE RESIDENCY

The heart of Denniston Hill is our artist residency, situated on 220 acres of rolling farmland, wetlands, and protected forest historically tended by the Munsee Lenape tribe, now called the southern Catskill mountains of New York.

Denniston Hill’s residency brings together a diverse group of individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to art making and inquiry, creating the most stimulating environment possible for a concentrated period of artistic creation, interaction, and growth.

We offer a reflective space where queer and POC creators see themselves mirrored back in the heart of the organization.

We welcome artists of all ethnicities from around the world to a residency and workplace that centers queerness, Indigenous rights, and sanctuary for people of color because fairness and justice can only be achieved if we overcome the unequal starting places that disadvantage and create barriers for so many.
